Data Recovery Get back your lost data
Thought you had lost your precious photos when you accidentally deleted them? Hard drive problems caused you to lose your MP3s? Call me to see if I can recover those important files.
When you delete a file from your PC it's gone forever, isn't it?
No - quite simply when you delete something from your hard drive you simply tell the system to forget about it, it doesn't actually get removed. Later on it may be written over by other data but even then it still may be recoverable.
If the hard drive is still working then it is possible to recover your files at a relatively low cost. Depending upon hard drive size and the amount of data involved costs start from as little as £59. If you have lost your family photos because you accidentally deleted a folder, if you have lost your important documents because you reformatted your drive or you simply want to get your music files back on a hard drive that won't start I can help.
In most cases I can recover lost, deleted data from hard drives (both internal and external), usb flash drives (memory sticks) and camera memory cards.
What sort of data can be recovered?
Virtually any type of file can be recovered but generally people tend to want to recover the following types of files:
- Graphics files (such as .jpg, .bmp, .tiff) - these are likely to be photos
- Document files (such as .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx
- Music files (such as .mp3, .wav, .mp4)
- Video files
If you find yourself in a situation where you need to recover some files please give me a call before you start using your PC again. The less you use your PC after having accidentally deleted them or after malware has deleted them the more files can be recovered. Success rates are typically 80% or above.
I am able to recover lost data caused by any number of situations such as:
- Accidental deletion
- Corrupted files
- Hard disk read/write errors
- Windows blue screen of death (BSOD)
- Virus/ Malware infection
Data Transfer/ Data Wipe Services
Have you bought a new PC and want to copy the data on your old PC across to it? Maybe you would like to use the old hard drive as a secondary hard drive in your new system (desktops only)?
I can help with both of these, transferring your files safely and at a reasonable cost.
These services are charged at my normal fee of £35 for the first hour and £10 for each subsequent half hour or part thereof. As a rough guide configuration of your hard drives ready for the transfer and transfer of 100GB of data will take approx. 1 hour.
Are you going to throw away your PC or sell it? Have you considered that your data on the PC is recoverable even if you delete it?
A common method of obtaining information in order to commit identity theft is obtaining a thrown away PC. Crooks will attempt to recover even deleted data in order to obtain things like online banking passwords, site passwords, family information etc.
Again, I can help ensure that your data is wiped securely before you ditch or sell your PC. Call me for more information.
(BOTH OF THESE SERVICES ARE ONLY POSSIBLE THROUGH A PICK UP AND RETURN SERVICE - THERE IS NO EXTRA CHARGE FOR THIS IF YOU LIVE WITHIN 12 MILES OF THE CENTRE OF PLYMOUTH)
